 Visiting this town in June is a great ideea to participate in the Savonlinna Ballet Festival, and in July the Savonlinna Opera festival that takes place every year.

 The oldest city in Finland is Porvo, a great medieval centre with the Museum Johan Ludvig Runeberg dedicated to the Finnish poet.
