Cyprus Beaches - Bay of the Fig Tree in Protaras This beach is preferred by the natives and is the most populated beach of the island. Many sport facilities and cafés increase its attraction for tourists. The story says that the fig of the beach was brought by the invaders in the XVII century. Some hundreds of meters far, offshore, there is an island that tempts swimmers to venture to it. It is important to know that the island is made of sharp stones. - Alagadi Turtle in Kyrenia: Alagadi Turtle is a sandy beach with gravel on the seabed and shallow waters on a long distance. All these make it very appropriate for swimming and ideal for families with children. From the beach you have a wonderful view on the Five Fingers Mountains. Due to the fact that during the summer, green turtles come here and lay their eggs it is called also "Turtle Beach". In this period tourists’ access is restricted. - Escape: This beach with fine sand and very clean waters is situated 5km far from Kyrenia down town and it is one of the most beautiful of North Cyprus. There are a lot of facilities for spending your time: fet-ski, banana rides, canoe, hydro-bicycles, diving, and beach volleyball. - Protaras: Protaras is a long sandy beach with long chairs and sun umbrellas situated closed of Protaras centre. You can relax on the beach; practice a lot of sports such as: fet-ski, hydrobycicles, paragliding, snorkelling, or make boat trips on the coast. - Curium: It is one of the most beautiful beach of Cyprus, ideal for the ones that like the windsurf and the swimming.
